This thread is 13 months old with 6500+ upvotes. DO SOMETHING RIOT.

AFKERS ARE STILL GIVEN A RANDOM CHAMPION. WHY?

I dont know if this should be implemented for normal games, but I see no reason to not do it.

It is a MUST for ranked games though. AFK players getting random champions is stupid, and giving them a random champ should be replaced with dodging them out of the queue, with a queue dodge penalty.

I know there are many threads about this, but this is getting suggested for months, yet tons of patches have gone by and we still get teammates with random champions even though they were AFK.

Please make this your priority and have it come out the next patch.

it already happens, just don't panic and you will see them auto dodge.

not sure if it happens for ranked though: in which case it is probably more important that they do this

It auto dodges when they never connect, but I'm not sure about afk. If you don't pick a champ it gives you a random champion. there's no real way for the system to distinguish the difference between an afk and someone who simply didn't pick.

I would also like to see the player get booted and everyone else requeue if they don't pick a champion. Giving someone a random with no time to adjust runes, masteries, or summoner spells is just silly.

A lot of things should happen.

There should be no elo loss upon dodge
there should be no boosted elo gain for the first series of ranked games
There should be a pause function
There should be a remake function
