quick access to all shop sections, if lower resolution shop is used, the icons can be truncated to a second row. again, easy to do.

home button is not needed in this setup.

I agree with the sentiment that we should break out the categories so you don't have to dig into a second level to find the items you want!

I do like the idea of a simplified interface; however, the ones proposed are quite confusing. The sideways text on the first proposal would be difficult to read, and in the second, it's not quite clear what all of those categories stand for.

For the hell of it, I'm going to see if I can come up with something later
