His stealth drains mana rather quickly and the mana drained per second increases as you level the skill, so you need to buy mana regen items on him.
It also means you have to pick and choose carefully when you want to be stealthed, because if you linger too long in stealth you won't be able to use your ulti on them to finish them off.
Another plus is this almost always means that a scout after a battle can't stealth and just get away easily, unless he has heavily invested in mana regen - which would mean fewer damage items. On the other hand, the stealth has no fade time either (although that part of it doesn't HAVE to be copied over).
Although I've always seen Fayde as being more similar to Eve, because she's a burst hero. Fayde's stealth is her ulti, but it only lasts for thirty seconds or so. While she is stealthed, she has unitwalking, treewalking, etc (I imagine in LoL it'd be similar to being ghosted with the extra ability to walk over flashable things) and her next attack deals a lot of extra bonus damage.
There is also Madman who has a low cooldown on his stealth and he uses it in short little bursts, and he moves slightly faster in these bursts, while dealing small amounts of damage to any enemies he runs next to while stealthed. That's pretty cool too.
To be honest there are so many things that can be done with stealth than the typical "here's your thirty second stealth that does nothing other than make you invisible" and the perma-invis idea.

This would allow a team a limited duration to clear stealth objects, without the long-term "sweeping" of wards that you hope to avoid.
That's just dust. Implement dust please. -.-
