People dont seem to get this.
Attack Speed/On HIt works the same for almost every champion. Kayle has NOTHING in her kit that makes her better at it, its the fact her kit is now SO BAD that going AP or AD is pointless on her, so its best to just rush AS to maximize the bonus damage from E.
Check out most mages who have
A) more range
B) more natural attack speed
C) more attack speed per level
D) far..far...FAR better abilities, even without AP
Zil has a massive speed up/slow down power and an ult that is game changing. His bombs are a fine AoE harass even without much AP behind them.
Oriannas passive works like Kayles E for bonus single target damage 3 hits in, she has significantly more attack speed naturally and per level (+3.5% vs +2.0%) and more range. She can AOE slow for more than kayle can single target slow at 50% more range (925 vs 525). Her Ult is game changing (effectively a 400 aoe stun+move+burst damage). Its basically a tibbers bomb. She can speed up teammates BETTER (almost twice as good as kayle can!) and can spead up more than 1 at a time. And oh yeah, she has a real support abilities (an awesome shield with low cooldown and ability to give a player 30 armor/30 magic resistance).
Kayle has a bad passive
Kayle has no incentive to go any other build than as/ap
Kayle has horrible range for a ranged carry, and has to get a power + 40 % cdr to just behave as a ranged character 100% of the time despite the fact her raw stats would be weak for a ranged carry (i.e she is penalized for being a ranged carry mechanically but has to ASPIRE to be one, with cdr runes, masteries and equipment).
Kayles heal is now quite pointless yet was not removed from her kit. The speed buff is insignificant; real supports (zil, orianna) can boost someone significantly better/longer on average. The heal is weak enough it basically stops a single auto attack from an enemy carry, with a 15 second or so cooldown, it may as well not exist.
Kayles early game is worse now (mathematically proven); all she has now that is better is better mana costs for the most part, however since her heal is so bad now her sustain plummeted, so against any intelligent enemy her early game lanning is now WORSE (yes worse. I understand in pub games people dont harass each other that much, but in ranked people see a kayle and realize her weakness and capitalize on it). Kayle cant keep her health up, and her range on Q and E is limited; most other solos can safely harass her, or have much better sustain.
