"Another dead end lead," Darik sighed. He was concerned about her still, how she felt about her new situation, but he couldn't bring himself to ask. He didn't want her to feel that he was forcing her to do anything. Perhaps it wouldn't have been such an issue for him if she wasn't so difficult to read. She always looked as though she were drifting, as though she was somewhere else yet here at the same time. Darik put these thoughts out of his mind, it could do no good to dwell on them.

"At the very least this may confirm my suspicions that we are dealing with another power. Whoever is behind this must have seen fit to silence him in order to cover their tracks." He stood, and making sure once again that no one was watching, motioned for Iris to follow.

After making their way to the Sanctuary, and explaining their purpose there, they were led to Father Dormumu, who was alone, appearing to be praying at an altar. He did not seem to notice their entrance, however Darik decided to wait and let him make the first move, so that he could judge the priest's reaction.

((I'm sorry if it seems I'm trying to rush things along, I just don't want this RP to stagnate and die on us.))

((Ha, its ok... Sorry if I'm replying slow too... I'm kind of up in the mountains right now. d= ))

Iris eyed Dormumu for a moment. It had been some time since she had seen another of her kind, but even so he would be a part of a completely different tribe from her own. She was certain the desert yordle wouldn't believe her if she told him where she was from anyways, but knew that he would probably be more cooperative in answering Darik's questions while she was present.

She waited in silence, absently running one finger along the feather in her hand.

Dormumu got up to his feet and turned looking at the figures at the entrance way. "He finally sent you to kick me out?" said Dormumu in a squeaky voice. A robe was covering most of his body, but through his face you could see that he had blue fur with streaks of white indicating his age. ((Similar to rumbles.))
"Well I tell you now if you want me out you'll have to drag me. I am not leaving without the funds I desperately require." he in his mousey voice. ((think veigar but not s shrill))

The Sanctuary

Baren had mention that the priest had been doing work in the desert city of the yordles, but Darik had hardly expected to find that he was one of them himself. "I do not know nor am I concerned with your situation at the moment, Dormumu. Rather, I am here on a business of greater importance," he said off-handedly as he closed the door.

"It is said that you are an experienced scholar in the old lore of your kind. Simply put, I need your cooperation in aiding an investigation." He walked over to the small yordle and knelt down to him, extending the note to him. "This was found on the body of a dangerous criminal two days ago. From what our people can work out it's an old yordle languange that hasn't been used in ages. Can you make anything of it?"

((Just a reminder Smiley both groups are waiting on both Silas and Fleng in the other RP))

((Necro hasn't posted in a while, so if you want to move the group to Amenhotep to keep the RP flowing you can. It's fine with me atleast)).

The Sanctuary

Dormumu tuned out Darik right after he said the words "business of greater importance." "Greater importance?! Greater importance! I'll have you know sir that nothing is of 'greater importance' then spreading the faith to the ignorant." "Without the capital to do so, I might add!" Even under his fur one could tell he was flustered.

The Sanctuary

Darik sighed a bit. He was getting nowhere by maintaining the composure and neutrality expected of him. "Perhaps I should be a bit more clear. This investigation is a matter of life and death for your people. You have heard of the assasination attempt two days ago, I'm sure. Currently, the evidence points to Urtistan as the one who is to blame. If we cannot prove elsewise within 3 days, Icathia will declare war." He paused a moment to let that tidbit sink in.

"Now then, if this is allowed to happen, tell me, Dormumu, what do you think will become of the yordle lands that lie between the two nations? There may not be anyone left to spread your faith to, when all is said and done. I do not know what you may know of war, but I have seen my share, and I can assure you that war spares no one, not even the most innocent of souls. Have I put this within your perspective?"

Amenhotep

The sun beat down on the group as it traveled closer to the floating pyramids. Eventually they walked under their massive shadows. The city gates were not far now. Orthad clung to the reins weakly her lips seemed parched and her presence felt weak.

The city walls were made of sandstone with wooden planks jutting out from the top. The city gates them self were moved by a network of pulleys and levers. Traffic, both human and yordle moved in and out, vast caravans from all corners of the globe were traveling into the city.

Yordles often relied on mercenaries to defend their trade caravans but even with protection the sands were very dangerous. Shadowing above them the large floating pyramid blocked out much of the sun.

The pyramids both served a ceremonial purpose and a practical one. Each pyramid would house the city's royal dead, but it would also allow construction of another section of the city, as it greatly changed the environment to a more hospitable one.

Another breakthrough in the city were the massive aqueducts that ran along its breath. Water was never scarce in Amenhotep. To many it was the jewel of the Shurima Desert. The company entered without much fanfare and quickly dropped off Orthad to a healer. Now they faced another problem. Who would guide them across the last leg of the journey?

((Orthad will die from her wounds when the group leaves the city if plead cant post))

The Sanctuary

Iris had been staying a distance away from Darik and Dormumu at first, but once their conversation started she quietly approached them. She placed one hand on the arm Darik was holding the note in, almost as if she were telling him that she would try to handle the situation. Speaking in a soft voice, she moved forward a bit closer to Dormumu, making a slight bow towards him as well.

"Father Dormumu, we understand the trials that you must be going through right now, and I will be willing to try to help you solve them... Though I ask you for this favor of translating the note first, please."

((You can't kill off a character without plead even as the forum DM. The best you can do is let Orthad go home.))

Amenhotep

Hilde walks out of the healer's clinic with Rudmed, sighing in fatigue. "We'll need to rest. The journey has been a long and tiring for me."

She tends to her mount, the horse also ragged. Hilde looks around for the closest inn and headed over, leaving her horse with the stable master.
