My point is, is if finding gay people to play this game with is so important, go make a forums called "LGBT League Players" or something, and get over the fact that you can't say the word "gay" in a game where it is 99% of the time used in a negative connotation, by what is widely regarded as one of the worst communities in gaming.

You don't have to make a forum thread about finding other gays, just add anyone who mains taric or ezreal as a friend.

When someone other than gay people tend to look at sexual orientation, they look at it only as the act. But where you have a behavior, you have social constructs that subsume personalities, behaviors, and values. There are sensibilities at work and, sure, they are like all cultures parasitically entering into the citizen and forming that person, but we're only human, man. We might know that it is the environment that damages us and turns us into what we are, and yet the damage is done and we go forth living in this way.

Plenty of gay people, for instance, will see that sexual orientation does not matter, but they are just a segment of the whole. There's a real culture out there, and like-minded people with similar sensibilities will want to be together. Comfort, baby.

Why does sexual orientation have anything to do with anything?
By using this in your friend search you are only furthering segregation and mistrust.
You are judging people who may or may not be your friends based on them being gay.
I don't care what you're into, who you're into, or why, you either are cool to hang out with or you are not.

because being straight puts you in a majority where you are free to love who you want without the fear or worry that someone might hate you (or god forbid hurt you).

to answer your question its okay to make add me if your gay thread and its also okay to make one that says add me if your straight but you really wouldn't because that's the majority of the people who play and therefore an irrelevant qualifier for an "add"
