Being a dota player and seeing how this game was created from creators of dota,
i find it ridiculous how hard it is to move around the map screen

u cant click on the mini map and to see what is going on nor can u move around ur screen as ur hero has to constantly be in the centre of the screen

is there a method in doing so ?? or is this just not part of the game ?

you can disable the camera binding :P Really, sometimes i wonder why did they create such a stupid option in the first place, no one uses it anyways :/ Anyhow, look to the bottom pannel right next to your minimap. You will notice a few option - menu, etc. They are 4 very small square thingies. One if them is an eye. Click the eye to bind/unbind your camera =)

If you unlock the camera, using one of the two methods posted above, you are free to move it around and do exactly what you are asking
