Crits! Pierce through armor??

hey, one quick question. As you might have guessed from the title I've been wondering if critical hits pierce through armor, or apply the damage reduction, or even of damage reduction is included.. i don't know i was just hoping for some feedback on LoL's mechanics behind critical hits ......thanks for the support peeps

as far as i know crit is nothing but extra damg before armor is applyed to it

another reason why armor pen is insanely good

I think the formula is something like this:

Crit damage=

Damage * (2 + Infinity Edge + Runes) / ((armor/100)+1)


Example:

Your damage = 100
You have Infinity Edge
You have 25% Crit damage from runes

They have 200 armor

You'll do
100 * (2 +0.5 +0.25) / ((200/100)+1)
100 * 2.75 / (2+1)
275/3
91.66 Damage

There are other things that modify crit damage though. It would be more accurate to say

base crit damage = Damage * (2 + crit modifier). Other things include Tryndamere's Bloodlust and the mastery that gives 10% bonus crit damage.
