Under a tower, multiple champions can hold off two burst/assassins. Sure, not all, but that's what team balance is for.

Go at a Maokai under a turret with 2 people, and see how well that goes.

If you're defending bottom turret it's usually pretty easy to go and stop them unless leaving bot turret means another person on their team will cap bot.

Mobility is extremely useful for Dominion but you can't just run around capping stuff unless you're fighting really weak 1v1 champions, they're leaving gaping holes in their defense, or your team just won a major fight. Otherwise it's really easy for a more experienced team to shut you down.

If you can't immediately make a cap use your mobility to make fights 2v1 and 3v2 in your teams favor and hopefully you can kill them before their reinforcements come.

This. back dooring is a thing of the past on Dominion. What you look for is openings when they either do something stupid or you just have a prime chance to take something.

best champs are those that can stall, distract, or take on more than one champ

champion numbers are key in dominion, and so is being able to allocate team members effectively, by distracting multiple enemies using only one of ur team members means they have less team members to capture or defend whereas your team members can just run all over the place and win.

you really mean to imply that because the score system doesnt reward defending , is the reason why people dont defend?

srsly if this is true, i have even less faith in the average intelligence of the community if they srsly rather loose games and get a high score for their epeen rather than play llike they are supposed to..

Personal stats have always been used as justification for poor teamplay, nobody ever wants to admit their stupidity

Exactly. The scoring is meaningless. Someone who is too busy holding people off the point while others cap or have a ton of support/cc to contribute doesn't have that reflected on scoreboard.
