Originally they had a 1 game advantage in best of 3. After that was done and CDE won they changed their minds and said it was actually a one set advantage. So Dignitas went in already having 1 set win under their belt (that they never played, they were just given it) meaning they only had to win 1 set to get 2/3 and beat CDE.

Wait, so Matt made a recommendation to WCG that started this mess in the first place and now Riot is hands off? If you're not willing to take ownership of a problem that was created by a recommendation from the eSports Manager of Riot, then maybe Riot shouldn't be making recommendations in the first place.

Then the best option is not to try and justify the decision if it is completely wrong in every way imaginable. This is what is happening, Marcou is trying to justify the bending of the rules, and evading one of the biggest issues; Jatt.

A reasonable point, except had they "read the rules" they would've come to the understanding that they had already lost. The problem is that WCG has chosen not to adhere to the stated rules as opposed to the rules they wanted to use but did not tell players about.

Congrats on completely missing the point, which was that in the end Riot has full control of their game. If they, for example, chose to ban Jatt's accounts from playing the game for the duration of the competition then that would be that regardless of how WCG interprets or changes their own rules.

But it is safer for them to sit back and claim that they have no way to influence the outcome and it's in the hands of the third-party organizers, because that way their own asses are covered.

Well, the rules stated that anyone attempting to play for multiple countries could get a lifetime ban from WCG. It's funny that instead, all he got was a DQ from the tourney he already lost in.

The format for WCG Canada is the same double elimination best of three format. It was also communicated improperly by the WCG CA admins (the same organization that ran the US tournament).

After the WCG CA admins were told that the Canadian final hadn't been completed, they called a meeting with those players to have the finish the finals. Final results from that tournament are still pending and will be posted by WCG Canada when they are complete.
