Viable? What items? Cooldown reduction? Straight up Ad and AP (needlessly large rod, bf sword or sanguine, will of ancients, gunblade).

Reasoning was that trinity force basically combines two items I see as the part of the general norm for AP akali (Sheen/lich bane and Rylai's Crystal Scepter)
I am just wondering what is the best place to go from trinity, here is a list of all items I would consider using.

Abyssal Scepter
Guinsoo's rageblade
Haunting Guise
Needlessly large rod/rabadon's
Gunblade
Will of ancients
Hexdrinker
Sanguine Blade
The Black Cleaver
The Brutalizer
Spirit Visage
Stinger
Any type of boots probably ionian thought

Also what items would you recommend I get at the start? Sheen or boots + longsword + amplyfying tome


Edit: basically can forget this thread, I just googled it and trinity force does apparently have a internal 2 second cooldown even thought it doesn't say so in the tooltip, that was the very ground this was built on, and since this has no foundation, AP is obviously the way to go.

you got rid of the scaling damage part of lichbane and the consistency of slow from rylais, as well as the fact that your q no longer has a ranged slow if you need to kite or run out of ult charges.

Would this at least be good earily if you rush it? Since you guys are talking all about scaling, what about if you don't have lots of AP.

No, because you should be building AP on Akali from the beginning. Trinity Force is a very expensive item, and that expense isn't worth it if you're using it suboptimally.

lol well..... if your level 10 and have like... 200 AP you could have a trinity instead, which would proc more often and do more damage, and has more benefits other than that.

You seem to be greatly confused as to what Trinity actually does. It doesn't proc "more often" than either Sheen or Lichbane as each is based on your ability usage and has the exact same internal cooldown restrictions. With 200 AP you won't be doing "more damage" because Trinity only boosts your BASE AD by 50% with the proc whereas Lichbane adds your TOTAL AP to your auto attack with its proc, and Lichbane boosts your AP with its own stats, increasing your 200 AP by the amount of Lichbane's bonus, giving you even more AP to work off of.

The only benefit TF has now is attack speed/run speed, and Akali needs neither. Lichbane provides MR, which Akali could really use.

Trinity Force procs every time you use a skill and don't have it proc'd already. If you use lichbane there is a 2 second cooldown. What I am saying is isn't it better since you are in melee range to proc a trinity force after every skill rather than procing lich bane only once or twice. Also people are always saying lich bane is way better, but if your core is rabadon's and lichbane, since nobody builds lich b4 rabadon's/ at least 150ish AP. That costs much more than a single trinity force, so I don't know why everyone is saying that it is so expensive compared to them. It is like having 150 AP on a lichbane proc except much more frequently and you can rush it since it does lots of damage earily game, and doesn't rely on other items to be useful. What I don't get is why is it perfectly viable on characters like poppy who proc it much less (3 skills normally not counting ult.) When akali can proc it up to 6 times (each skill once except ult 3 times.) and both characters have similar cooldowns, akali's are shorter in fact, the would both potentially use Q more than once.

Because Akali herself doesn't scale with AD or AS or Armor or HP or whatever other stat.She scales with AP.You build AP items then you grab a Lichbane later when you have enough AP.

Trinity Force is meant for champions that either have a high base AD or abilities that apply the proc.Akali has neither of those things.
