Riot: How long until you nerf Xin Zhao? (Surprisingly, not a rant AGAINST him.)

The reason people complain is because Riot won't nerf them unless lots of people whine about it. People whine more when more players use that champion.

Comparing Soraka and Taric is a good way to show this.

Soraka is the staple support healer, so many people complain about her. As a result, Riot keeps nerfing her. They nerfed her so much that other champions arguably have better healing abilities, despite the fact she's a champion designed specifically for healing.

Taric, on the other hand, has not received the nerfbat as often as Soraka. He's a very tough tank with two very good healing abilities, natural armor and attack damage buffs, and a powerful stun that's difficult to see. Once he reaches level 6, he can tank a turret by himself, something which other tanks can only do if they reached at least level 15 with some good items. I personally believe he's overpowered.

Despite being powerful, I rarely see Tarics outside of freebie weeks. I only occasionally see him in pre-made teams. I believe this is because Taric looks really stupid, something even a player who mains as Taric agrees to.

I surmise that the reason Taric hasn't been nerfed as much is because fewer people play as him, fewer people fight against him, and thus, fewer people complain.

Therefore, people complain a lot about certain champions is because the more people complain, the more likely Riot will nerf the champion.

Yes, the logic makes sense, but theory never follows through into practice. If the solution was as simple as "don't group up;" Ryze, Annie, Fiddlesticks, Morgana, Alistar, Amumu, Ezreal, Gangplank, Gragas, Katarina, Malphite, Nasus, Pantheon, Rammus, Twitch, and Zilean would be easily dealt with.

The game is very AOE friendly because it is heavily reliant on teamplay.

Xin Zhao doesn't need a nerf at all. He's going to wreck a squishy and deals decent AoE burst. He's got similar damage output to Akali.. and he's just as squishy.

Harass makes him cry.

Taric has one healing ability. He can heal himself using his ult for 50 a second (at rank 3) but not his allies. They changed that awhile ago. He is a tank support heal, but not a pure healer. Even after several nerfs, Soraka is a much much much more effective healer than taric. She cannot deal as much damage as he can, she brings no CCs compared to his very effective E ability, and she cannot tank as well as he can, but she will outheal him in nearly every situation possible.

i agree. with the right runes and clarity, taric is definitely better than soraka and has better survival. however, theres a difference between champs that have the correct runes and champs that dont have any. there are champs that become monsters if you have the right runes. for example, xin zhao is ridiculous even without runes and doesnt need to be fed to do crazy dmg.

Taric: Takes some skill to utilize properly. Is probably overpowered.

Soraka: Takes no skill to utilize properly. Is played far more often due to it.



Yep. I do like the comparison of Xin Zhao to Akali, though. They are very similar, with the main difference being Xin Zhao's AoE Burst vs. Akali's Single Target Burst.

Agreed Xin isnt Oped every burst caster can shut him down hard as long as you dont have to step in range of his auto-attack to kill him then you win easy as that and people fail to realize he has no escape mechanic if he gets slowed then GG all he can do is pop ghost/flash which everybody can do.
