The story says:

" He touched his forehead, fingers tracing a scar left by the edge of a Demacian shield, remembering the sensation of blood pooling in his eyes"

But then seems to contradict itself later with:

"Capitalizing on his opponent's confusion, the Squeaker lunged, a fatal sword thrust obscured behind his battered shield. Sitting in the sand, Xin Zhao was caught unprepared, too late to dodge, too late to think. The Squeaker’s blade slid into the flesh between Xin Zhao’s eyes, its tip pressing against his skull."

So was the wound caused by the Demacian Shield? Or the guy's blade/sword?

Wow can you guys stop making stupid little nooks and crannies surrounding the game? Fix the actual game first, nobody cares about "lore" or the story behind all the characters. Just fix them, and fix your horrible match making. Level 24s paired up with 30's and afk/leavers all day in ranked solo gg riot

Actually, a lot of people do care. Stop making your own opinion everyone else's. The lore behind a game adds a lot to the pleasure of playing it imo.

It might be that you only care about your score and how bad your teammates are, in that case, go play Counter-Strike, or a single player game, and shut the hell up in these unrelated threads. Jesus

I think what's happening is that the first line is about a memory of the past, whereas the second bit is an illusion that is taking place in the present.

You should get some of the guys that pumped out the "Magic: The Gathering" books to get to work on some LoL ones. If the evaluations keep this kind of feel, I don't think it's a far stretch at all to say that the LoL lore could easily become a novel series.
