What's the reason for locking your champion while they start capturing? I'm wondering because it's a huge determinate if you accidentally click on the tower in the middle of a fight since it basically stuns you for a second or so. I had no intent on capturing yet there I was starting the channel and letting Fizz wail on me :/
It'd be nice if you could cancel it since it doesn't stop opposing captures until the channel actually starts.

To give defenders a chance to mess you up since you just stopped the turret from firing at you. The hitbox for the capture area is a tad large though, and I think they're looking into that.

While I'm fine with a smaller hitbox, I really hope they aren't holding off on ranked because of issues like this one.

I have an inkling that they're trying to figure out a way to change the global aura to fix champions that take heavy advantage of the map's structure. i.e. Poppy/Vayne wall pounding shutdowns without needing to farm considerably, Kassadin/Rammus mobility with incredible utility and damage, etc. A great way to balance out the insane sustainers like Ryze, Warwick, Yorick, Sion(sorta), AP Yi (huehuehue), X champ with Wota and possibly Revolver, etc. would be to release an AP item which applies grievous wounds in some manner.

These are just speculations and partial opinions, but I'm pretty sure the physical map is perfect as it. They shouldn't be waiting for ranked to release champion/aura based changes though.

^this last bit is so important. I've been running ignite on nearly everyone I take because I'm tired of some of the silly lifesteal/spell vamp shenanigans I've seen (warwick/sion I'm looking squarely at you).

Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me; this small map really increases the strength of several champs.

So like an AP Executioner? That alone wouldn't bother me, though that + Executioner + Ignite + CS Aura + champion abilities with healing reduction would make healing quite underpowered. Right? Maybe that's what they're going for, but just how far will they push it? R.I.P., Atmog's.

I hear you on this, but you have to understand how some mages feel against heavy sustainers sometimes... Maybe they could make an AP item that would only appeal to strict AP mages and not the hybrid audience (to avoid double grievous wound debuff time), or they could increase the the CD for executioners calling and give the new AP item a decent CD as well? I'm not sure how they would do it, but as it stands currently it is very difficult to stop Ryze or Yorick as a mage. The main issue is that AP mages don't benefit from AD/crit items at all, thus making executioners a wasted buy, but most Tanky AD champs have AP ratios on their moves too thus making some AP items viable.

This then raises the question about how much an AD/hybrid is willing to pay for an strictly AP item. Maybe something costing 3-3.5k providing a good amount of AP, activated (or some other nonconstant method for applying it) grievous wounds, and something else (a lot of mana? %AP increase? idk, im not a designer, just an observer).

Most champion abilities that apply grievous wounds are AD as well, so executioners calling is already amazing as it is.

Eh, I think if they shared CD, that'd be cool. That way no stacking issue could ever arise. Also, making it appeal more to mages than hybrids wouldn't be unwise. Good call. I don't play mages enough to understand their woes. Thinking of using Zil as my Dom mage, but I don't hear much about him one way or the other.

If they shared the CD, then it could be a much cheaper AP item (around the price of executioners) and there would be no problem. The real question would be whether they make it a dominion only item (and then they would need to alter executioners too to make it shared).

All in all I think it's something Riot should look into, but I honestly don't know how they would go about it.

I would take the GD approach - scream, cry, pull my hair, then demand that Trynd get nerfed into the ground so that I could faceroll into his ult. Just sayin', Nek. Just sayin'.
