If I do the most damage to someone and then Ezreal/Karthus/Ashe uses their ult to finish them off down the lane, I don't care if they get the kill, so long as someone on the other team dies.

I wish. If anything, there are a lot of people ((at least who believe to be in "mid-high elo")) who would do anything for a better K/D ratio, and brag about it like it's their "#1 LoL player in the Universe" trophy, just for having a higher K/D ratio.

Actually, you may be right about "higher elo" caring less about K/D/A, because it seems most people only care for K/D.

This means that people playing tanks or support get the short end of the stick when it comes to braggers and K/D tryhards.

Again, this isn't about who gets the kills, it's about rewarding players for their contribution to a kill.

So answer my question then. If somebody doesn't die for 10 minutes, do you think the system should give the kill to the person who did the most damage over that entire time, even if they healed to full multiple times in there?

Actually, in the suggested methods, you're leaving out the new assist system, which allows healers to get some gold for assisting their team, even without dealing damage in that given period of time!

I assume you're refering to I did 94%, they escape and blue-pill, heal to full, run back to the fight/turret, get hurt, rinse and repeat; right?

The time frame for determining the most damage done bonus and assist bonuses is not what we're discussing. The time-frame is whatever length of time the death recount is currently tracking.

Please re-read my suggestion. I clearly state that the issue remaining is the one of how to reward someone who contributed no damage to the fight, but helped facilitate the kill (i.e., they used a non-damaging slow effect, or a stun, or healed those who earned the kill).

This could lead the chars that are a lot stronger early getting lots of kills, that would actually ruin the flow of the a game a bit. Like, Ryze is never a joking matter, but a fed ryze isnt quite as fearsome, as a litany of other heroes (theres always exceptions to team makeup/etc). So if he got a majority of the early kills, because of his ult/etc. I dont think it would exactly do much. I'd just play ryze all day, first 20-30mins just rack up huge k/d and then lose every game because of it. rinse repeat, few weeks boom best kdr and a terrible w/l ratio.

If someone dies mid fight, does 90% of the damage, though... the person who chases the guy for half the map to finish him off deserves the kill for finishing the job. Even if he only did 10%.

And that situation would not have occurred if you didn't do 90% of the damage in the first place.
