I don't understand why not liking a game mechanic is an excuse to be bad at it. You might want to think about playing something else.

This is completely true. If you're playing the game, you can't declare that "the system isn't good so it's not me playing poorly, it's just me waiting for a better system." You're playing within a set of rules, if you want to be skilled you need to follow them. If you don't like them, find a game you do like, with a system that works for you.
That doesn't mean others can bash you for suggesting different ways to do things. Anyone saying "Lol anyone who suggests changing the last-hit mechanic is just bad" is stupid. There are strong players that don't particularly like the idea as much as they like some alternative they've seen or thought of, but they're also not too lazy to learn it if they plan to play the game.

I voted for enjoying last hitting and prefer Summoner's Rift over Crystal Scar.

I enjoy it, and play almost entirely Summoner's Rift. I play some Twisted Treeline too, but no one cares about that
One of the main reasons I enjoy last-hitting is because I can often gauge my performance in lane by comparing CS between myself and my opponent, as well as other lanes. As I primarily play solo top, it's a straight-up CS competition in many games.
