I don't know how many of you were here during the time I'm referring to, but honestly I liked League better back then.
Remember when games involved a solo top lane, a solo mid lane, a duo bot and both teams had a jungler? Remember when CLG and TSM were the people to watch in the competitive scene? Remember when there was no such thing as the "Big 5?"
The new meta just bothers me. I mean I'm used to the teamfight thing and have spent the last eight months trying to adjust to this new ****. No dice. Now if I interrupt a duel to save my teammate I get reported by both teams. Going for baron? Yeah, that never used to be bannable. I mean things were simpler back then, too. I feel like I'm playing a whole new game now, and it's frightening sometimes.
There was a time when games weren't solo top Renekton, Heimer mid, Pantheon Jungle and Jazzik/Nunu bottom. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE what you guys did with Renekton (as a Renekton main), but games feel so homogenized now. If I try to pick ANYONE else for top then people dodge, AFK, report me, whatever. And god help the other team if they're not first pick.
I think the issue here is just the way you, Riot, are looking at things. Consider the last three champions you released: Omen, Starlight and Rosch. These three don't have any kind of defined role. You wanted them to be able to play any position depending on their builds, and while I appreciate that you are taking advantage of the DISASTROUS item revamp (and what I would give to turn back the clock and stop you from doing this) you have to realize that this is confusing to some players, Starlight especially. I've seen someone go Starlight mid while building full AS/DC and thinking they can stop Titan. Protip THEY CAN'T as soon as Titan hits 6 it's over for our mid, and then our bot and everyone else. Also, nerf Titan and tell RiotPsykosis that he's a ****ing idiot for making him in the first place.
It's probably too much to ask that we just rewind the clock to the Season 3 days. Yeah, I know. People can say what they want but seriously nothing good came out of Seasons 4, 5 or 6. Three seasons and we got nothing worthwhile. I know the fanboys are gonna be all over me about "lol dumbass CTF and Annihilation > Classic" but first of all no and second of all NO. Nobody plays Annihilation and CTF is so slanted in the favor of whoever gets Arix that it's impossible to get into a game to begin with. OH THEY HAVE ARIX GUESS I BETTER QUEUE DODGE and nobody does anything to fix this.
If I seriously had to pick a point where this game lost its touch, and I mean really lost its touch? I'd say season 5. When Morello and Guinsoo moved on to found Thermopolis Games. Let me tell you Riot you are so god**** lucky you launched Millenium because if you tried to pit LoL against MoT you would have been out of business faster than Microsoft. And honestly I think you know that. You've poured all of your resources into that retarded RTS and now we wait months before we get a new champion.
Well, not sure why I'm even bothering. By now my citadel is complete and the upload of my consciousness into the NeoConglomerate Nuclear Defense system has given me full control of this hemisphere's entire nuclear stockpile.
Time to go start the fireworks. I'll admit you humans had a good run but honestly you should have dealt with me when you had the chance.
