As most of us know, meta shows that Summoner's Rift is typically played with 2 people top lane, 1 mid, and 2 bottom, occasionally with top lane having only 1 toon due to a jungler. Furthermore, for 30's, ranked meta slots a carry to solo top, an ap character to hold down mid, and a ranged ad carry and a support (usually a healer) to trade blows in the bottom lane. Much to newly founded success, I find that changing the typical way of playing ranked is quite beneficial. Point being: Most ranked teams use the meta standard in the way they pick their teams and lane, so if you want a really good counter; mix the routine up on them.
I found that pairing a ranged carry bot, with a sustained melee fighter or assassin (such as Riven, or Pantheon respectively), has great potential to tip the bottom lane, and the jungle, in your favor. Also, consider sending a ranged carry mid against the ap heavy (ad weak) foe, and send your ranged ap bot to lane with an aggressive ad melee. Each lane should have at least one cc, including the jungler, with the bottom lane having at least 1 summoner heal (if not 2 for the combined dual sustainability).
Try out some new ideas, or add to these ones. Sticking with the routine gets boring and people tend to exploit weaknesses in the meta quite easily. Change it up a little, have fun and don't forget to be unpredictable!
The key to a solid win usually lies within a skilled jungler, wards, and unpredictability.
