I wouldn't advise doing that unless they build into an item that you want. Avarice blade provides what .5 gold per second? so you're giving yourself 12% crit which is worthless on many champions (and not all that great on many champs who do use crit) in return for 750 gold. Just to pay itself off is 25m.

Heart of Gold on the other hand is a great starting item for certain characters like Rammus. Unless you're going jungle, which you should if nobody else on your team is.

A whole host of champions can shut Alistar out of last hitting*, and one of his problems is the time it can take to clear a minion wave as him without mana expensive Pulverize spamming.

*(Pretty much every ranged dps champion, for starters.)

An early Sunfire Cape is honestly the best way to improve Alistar's farm, if its that important to you.

Generally, you should be at least 10X, more concerned that the enemy champions die than about who gets the last hit.

Don't save your Headbutt for a last hit when there is need for it in a team fight.

No one complained about his information regarding last hitting minions.

The issue was the fact that he was advocating last hitting champions as a tank, as well as denying his carry lane mate minion kills. This does two things: break up the team work needed to kill someone and supports selfish playing behavior when this is a team game. The team with the best organization and cooperation will win.

It is important for carries to get gold to farm it up, they are the most item dependent champions in the game. Support can easily still support without buying any items. Tanks do need gear, but much less than Carries do. Tanks and Support classes get gold for assists, and they should have a ton of assists by nature of their champion playstyle. If you're a tank or support with no assists and a lot of kills--you're doing it wrong.

I'm pretty sure there are separate "bounties" for kills and assists. It's just that the assist bounty is less than the kill bounty and the assist bounty is split among all champions that assisted. So you do get gold on assists, just less than you get for the kill. However, since you're a tank, assists should be fairly easy to obtain.

I don´t know much about tanks, but what I do know is that tanks don´t need money so bad as carries.
Carries have to buy items in order to kill a summoner of the enemy team.

Then to come back on the subject last hitting on champions.
I don´t think people really want to be ksed.
So if you are coming in to a big 1v1 and the enemy summoner has low hp. its only fair that the other allied champion kills him. otherwise you will get a bad team spirit and then the game is lost.
Of course you can assist him in his 1v1 but only if he doesn´t have low hp and the 1v1 has just started
