Working at Riot has been one of my dreams for a long time. As I get ready to finally submit my application, I'm kind of curious about the reds whom work in the community department. What's it REALLY like working for Riot? Was the application process intimidating for you as well? How old are you? Where are you from?
This is just a generic call to any reds that work in the community department because there's a position there that fits me very well. I don't see too many post either, so I was hoping to draw 1 or 2 out from their holes :P I'm pretty nervous, so any response would be super helpful.
Romulus and the entire community department, thanks for taking the time to read through this thread and giving us a taste of what it's like to work for Riot. I think everyone here (including myself) are just that much more motivated to become part of the team.
Edit: Submitted my application! Now all I can do is wait. 3/1/2012
UPDATE! I About 3 weeks after submission, I got an e-mail from them asking me to take what appears to be a diagnostic intelligence exam. I've asked other applicants about this before and this is the next step in the application process. I'm pretty excited.
3/22/12 Final update...for now.
Unfortunately, the recruiter that reviewed my materials (including Wonderlic exam) was not persuaded and I was not offered a position to work with the community department.
BUT! I haven't given up and I plan to re-apply with an even better cover letter and resume in the future. I'll re-double my efforts and apply again, even stronger then before. Thanks for all the well-wishes and good lucks, this thread has re-assured me that the efforts are worth it.
