I'm still looking forward to an Auto-Login feature ;(
Is that planned? Isn't that planned? Some Statement would be great.

Auto-login? No thanks. Maybe (JUST maybe) allow the account name to be remembered, but never auto-login.

remember my username.
remember my password.

but then only the first one is needed.

why not implement it and make the option switchable? mark the box to allow remembering and demark it to turn it off.
and for security reasons u could make it so when u demark the box it erases any trace of ur username and password

The only reason you would ever need this is to check if the servers are up. Hopefully that won't be an issue shortly...
