A tank isn't just defined by how much health and resistance they have, a tank is a champion that can disrupt the enemy team, protect their carry, and change the focus to them.

Nasus' kit is meant for him to be able to take out champions without instantly dying. Irelia only has to build Trinity as an offfensive item as well, Udyr just needs madreds really or an early game wits end. He's an offtank.

Nasus withers whoever wants to attack the carry, then kills them. By your definition, Lee Sin would fit the role of tank perfectly.

Probably get downvoted but I honestly believe if there is someone there to proc her passive Leona actually can do some pretty decent damage

Nasus is a bruiser, that most of the time is built off-tank
Have a slow doesn't make you tank, just saying.
Nasus skill set focus on deal dmg.
Q - main dmg skill
W- AoE dmg, with ar reduction to do more? DMG
E- slow to help you get closer to you target to do? DMG
R- you are melee, so you need some HP to stay alive to do dmg. this also give you a aura than do more dmg

by you definition Ashe, Mundo, Lux, Morgana, Cait, Fizz,"insert any champ here" is a tank.

A tank skill set is focused on protect teammates or punish enemies out of position

Nasus skill set, like i said , is focused on do dmg. Just cuz he have a slow this don't make him tank.

Alistar has an aoe knock up, and a headbutt, he has a heal to support his team in lane and team fights, and his ult makes sure he won't die so easily to keep doing his job.

Leona has 2 stuns and an aoe stun/slow, and her passive lets her team hit harder.

Amumu has a stun, an aoe stun, and 2 aoe damaging skills

Nautilus has a stun/grab, a stun, aoe slow, and an aoe knock up

Blitzcrank has a stun/grab, knock up, and an aoe silence

Tanks can play the roll of support to feed their carry, can Nasus play the role of support? No, tanks don't need creep score, they're 0cs champions. If Nasus has 0cs could he be of use? He'd tickle with his Q, your arguement is invalid.

I believe that If you do the math, you will find that Leona actually does the most damage of any tank in the game. Her passive is easily more than half of her damage in a team fight, and does more base damage than the ults of many AP carries in the game... Few people realize this though because when an ally activates a mark of sunlight, the system records it as their damage, and not Leona's.

So if you are level 11 and you're team is half decent. In 1 team fight let's say you'll be able to get 2 Q's off, hit 2 people with her E, 3 people with her W, and 3 people with her R (I think that's reasonable). If you're team activates all those marks, that's 950 damage from just her passive.

AP amu = death in team fights

I mean, other tanks can build AP and do more damage, but I think Leona does the most damage with no damage items. Of course, the big problem is getting Leona enough gold so that she can be in the middle of the team fight, applying these marks.
