I'm thinking about using Urgot in low elo ranked (~1200).
Background
I've noticed that if I Tristana, my team normally keeps dying, and I don't output enough damage mid-game, so they end up surrendering before we get to late game. This kind of pisses me off because I always win my lane (20 more CS than enemy carry, and a kill or two) and output close to max damage (given my champs' limitations) in team fights.
I've had more success with Ryze because he's at least somewhat viable in mid-game.
Why Urgot?
I haven't tried this yet, but my theory is that by dominating early game hard, I can demoralize the enemy team into doing the exact same thing- surrendering early on before Urgot falls off.
1) Is my observation that low elo games end quickly correct?
2) And if I decide to choose Urgot mid, will I be able to carry bad teammates? Urgot mid is nearly a guaranteed stomping, so I'm thinking that I would roam as much as I can to turn the top/bot lanes in our favor. Also, we'll just skip having an AP carry, since in low ELO people don't seem to itemize properly (they don't build armor even if we're pure AD). In midgame team fights, I should output close to the same damage as the enemy AP carry because of his horrid laning phase. And because I'm not on bot, we'll have an AD carry to pick up my slack should the game extend a little longer than I hope for.
