He posts too much, is biased as all hell and is probably paraphrasing.

And I say that as a person who loves playing Irelia.

Wickd probably said something along the lines of that they have to buff her in some way for her tournament viability to go on.

Voyboy can win a lane here and there and say she still works, but you can do that on Xin Zhao if you really want to.

Wickd knew the strengths of the champion and the reasons to pick it, Riot takes it away, Wickd no longer has a reason to play the champion, even if he is the posterchild of it.

I believe he said on stream that Riot will probably buff Irelia because she is a popular champion.

"I think that Riot have no clue about Irelia" (Wickd) I think I sort of agree with this lol... Morello said Irelia is an unbeatable wall top lane during the patch preview, and that is not really true. He also said that Irelia is unstoppable once she gets her TF, which is completely incorrect...
