Hey ladies and gentlemen, I think we can all agree to the fact that we are disappointed with the news that the Patch will not be coming today. But I've seen a lot of people say some pretty hurtful things on this thread, and further more show little to know appreciation to what Riot does each and everyday.
Another fact that we can all agree to is that we are all gamers in some form or another as we all play at least LoL here. For those of you who play more games, think of MMO's such as WoW or Rift, or even the new Star Wars the Old Republic, and even single player games such as Skyrim of Fallout, these games are massive in their own right. Yet for each and everyone of these games they have come up with patches to fix issues, but it isn't like they can just come out with it in a single day. Some of us might know a little to a lot about how a game is created, but none of us know everything involved in what it takes to create one. Countless hours are spent making a game.
So let us stop and think a moment as to why it is taking them so long. Obviously people need sleep and Riot doesn't pay them 24/7 and 365 days of the year, 366 if it is leap year. So we have to figure that they probably pay most of them for an average 8 hour work day. Now given 8 hours, you are limited to the amount of work you can put into certain aspects of the game. One guy might be busy doing the digital art, while another one is working with frames, well without the art that guy working with frames can't continue his work completely. The same goes for many other aspects. Also if that guy is already working on a project he might not be able to work on a second. And yes this is why they have multiple people to do the same job but you still get backed up.
Now yes it would be nice if we could all get updated a little bit more on the situation at hand with the patch, such as where it is at, what bugs there actually are still to fix, and estimated actual release date with fine print stating it is subject to change. But details like this give us hope and allow us to feel that they are working their best to release this Patch for us. But don't get me wrong, I'm pretty sure they are doing everything they possibly can in the amount of time alloted to them.
I for one hate when a game is release and there are a lot of bugs to be fixed, Skyrim was one such game that pissed me off royally with the bugs they released it with. But if it was a matter of waiting for bugs to be fixed or to get it right away, I would choose to wait. I want the game to run smoothly the first time through with no issues. Here at Riot, that is what they strive to do. So let's all bunker down and keep our cool, and just wait. Especially as nothing you say will make the process go any faster. Just let the people do their job and it will get here when it gets here.
