Hello Fellow Summoners.

I would like to talk about the FPS drop issues many players in the community have been experiencing.

To start, i am one of those players.

My pc use to run LoL at the highest Settings untill a few patches ago, now no matter what settings i have applied, my FPS will drop from a good 80/60 to about 20/16 not only is this unplayable , but it is very frustrating.

Firstly, it bugs me that i get to play the game at a high FPS, then it will drop to a low FPS rate that i cannot tolerate.

Secondly, it is very annoying that there are no real solutions to fixing this problem.

I have done the following things to try and fix this problem:

Changed the settings to very low, and a low resolution (to draw less pixels) - ineffective

Disabled backround tasks such as antivirus/firewall - ineffective

Used the latest version of GameBooster and Advanced System Care - ineffective

Set the Task Priorities to low except for the game itself which was set to high - ineffective

Disabled Windows services such as themes etc - ineffective

I have even Defragged, Scanned , Updated done everything to improve pc performance and it has had no impact at all.

The problem still persists.

I have even read the LoL FPS guides, and searched all over the net and forums to look for answers.

But nothing.

The annoying thing is, i can run games such as LOTRO with highest detail and DRX10

I can run TES IV , V highest settings on HD with Texture mods and i run them all perfectly fine.

But when it comes to LoL , I get Good FPS for a while, then it randomly drops to a low framerate.

ive disabled all sounds, ive used both Vanilla LoL and Custom LoL, and had no change.

(For those wondering, Vanilla LoL means unmodded/default League of Legends, and Custom means Modded)

I have reinstalled the game a few times, and talked to a few Tech Guys and they all agree that there is infact a problem with the game, and not my computer.

The only thing i found that actually works a little bit, is when playing the game, and the FPS drops, i open up the task manager and just change the priority of LoL, i can even select High (even if it is already set on High) and the FPS will return to normal for a while untill it randomly drops again.

But i cannot continue to ALT TAB the game to keep messing with the priority of the game just to get good FPS for about 3 minutes.

So i must ask , Riot, will you please take a look into this.

I have actually started to play less LoL lately ( Even though i have Played it for a good 2 years, and spent over $100 on the game itself ) simply because of this FPS problem.

And i fear that if the problem is fixed, i will probably stop playing the game altogether.

I remember seeing something in another post where a player experiencing this problem found a glitch in certain characters skeleton, which would cause a fault in the animation (ill try to tag the post here if i can find it)

Thankyou for taking the time to read this, i will be constantly trying to find solutions to this problems aswell, even if it means spending money on it.

If you are having the same problem, please Thumbs up this post so i can get a good headcount on the number of people having this issue, and it might show Riot how bad this problem really is.

Post Addons:

1) I would like to also add, killing the process of the Adobe Air Debug made no difference whatsoever.

2) Also there are theories that FPS drops can be caused by overheating. Even before my PC gets warm i experience FPS drops.

3) Also , Compatibility settings located in the properties for the game/shortcut made no improvement either.

4) Luckily the problem seems fixed (:

Seems they remade the engine of the game.


Well the problem isnt completely fixed, but because the FPS is boosted its not noticable anymore. (yay !)

Sadly, i had waited ages for them to fix this problem... and i got fed up and decided to buy a brand new PC ( really really expensive.. 4k worth , top of the line specs ) and a day after buying it they announced the fix D:

oh well im still happy with the new computer and the new graphics.

I play on 20 FPS all the time... I complain when I hit 5 FPS....

20 fps is unplayable?

im on 20 fps all the time...

I don't have the greatest computer but on the highest detail settings I used to be at 45-50 fps but now I have to play on low detail just so it doesn't go to like 17fps for a long time, usually just about the whole team fight

The game client has some resource issues in longer games. Next time you find yourself in a 45-60 minute game alt tab out and look at your task manager. The game uses a ridiculous amount of memory the longer the match lasts and it seems to mess with FPS.

I've noticed frame drops in long matches because I'll play for about 40 minutes at 100-120 fps and by 60 minutes getting 60-70 fps for no apparent reason while the client reaches over 1,000,000 in task manager.

20 fps is fine, and playable.

2 fps is ****ing drop dead, wall punching, head banging, ball dropping, up the butt frustrating.

if riot closes this like they did to mine, i will repost.
