Look to the professional teams if you want changes in the meta. They have far more influence on amateur play than Riot could ever give through patch changes.

This pretty much hits the nail on the head champion-wise. There simply are not enough ways to build champs. I mean, you can build AD, AP, tank, and tank damage. but all the items just change numbers.
Champions build items to scale their abilities or improve their defenses. That's what items do. If you desire to take a caster champion and expect him to perform just as well with attack damage items, you're in the wrong game.

You have to remember, most players are bad. So they have to balance around them.
Say Xin was decent and could be countered. But, he was facerolling bad players. He will get nerfed just because bad players can't handle him even though he has a counter and decent players can stop him.

And that goes back to the skill thing. Say Dyrus made a smurf account and played Eve. I imagine (since she isn't too terrible) he'd do well enough with her that we'd start seeing a flood of posts talking about how she's still too OP because she can stealth for a long time and does a lot... a moderate amount of damage with decent items.

Even though you can buy an Oracle's once, and never have problems with her again. The more seasoned players know that. The ones who don't will make the mistake a few times and eventually learn the counter.

That's one of the reasons why I think Zileas' "burden of knowledge" argument is lackluster.

The point of my post was about how there's a very limited number of builds you can do, not trying to do silly **** like AD Casters.

Ranged Carries almost ALWAYS get Bloodthirster, Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer in some way or form.

Tanky DPS almost ALWAYS get Atma's Impaler, Frozen Mallet/Trinity Force, and Warmog's Armor.

AP heroes ALWAYS get Rabadon's Deathcap and Rylai's Crystal Scepter.

Pretty boring tbqh.
This. SO much this.

Riot needs to introduce like, twice as many items as they have now.

More items to increase the numbers, or more items to increase functionality?
