I believe the only way you can play Irelia now is to play passive, as you will not have the ability to recover after a trade. Also, your trading power is rather weak until ~lvl 7, and you can only start trading after lvl 4.

Irelia's late game is mediocre at best, so please stop bringing this up.

Also, even with armor/mr/regen quints, she is very weak in lane, as most top laners can do just as well or even better without using counter runes.

I don't remember exactly who talked about this issue first, in another thread, but it was something like this.

A pretty big problem now is that you're now practically forced to buy it in order boost your sustain in lane. Once you have the wriggles, the enemy team can force go for dragon, as Irelia will not be as useful in a teamfight with a wriggles, compared to if she had something like a phage instead.

In addition, many top laners can survive and trade better than Irelia at the moment, assuming they don't have a constant minion hitting OCD, which will greatly affect your farm, causing you to obtain a wriggles (Or any item, really) rather slowly, anyway.

Lots of people giving opinions and stuff here. How big the nerf was, as in how much it will impact you is based on what level you are playing. After about 3 minutes in lane irelia will have maybe 40-70 less hp than she normally would. At low elo this doesn't make that much difference. Players are not that precise. At very high elo I think it can make a very large difference, and could make her lose some matchups outright.

Sigh, the long and painful wait for RIOT to admit their obvious mistakes. I really hope RIOT would admit their mistakes and buff Irelia back to where she was within weeks. But honestly, I doubt this will happen.

Like you said, the weakness of a champion amplifies the higher you go, as people know how to abuse it in higher elo.

Always remember this when you are going to say the nerf barely hurt you in your low elo range.
