My claim is that you shouldn't have to play an abusive game. It doesn't matter if you could turn around and win if you tried really hard. Some games aren't worth winning.

Forcing people to waste 30+ minutes on a game that was over at 5 has a very negative impact on the game.
And you have to remember that matchmaking pairs you with people of like-skill level. If afking really made a huge difference, they'd be reduced in rating and you wouldn't wind up with them. Instead, what I see is maybe wanting to AFK 1 game out of 50. And I've never been wrong.
