He's underpowered from my experience with him. His W needs a buff considering kog's %hp damage, plus kog can just DPS to get the most out of it where Varus has to use another ability to proc it. It's a fun/cool concept but he just seems overall slow.

Plus, arrows are SLOWWW. His Q is as well.

Yes. If you have a clue in how to build/play him, Varus melts faces ridiculously fast. Up there with Kog, when doing testing.

People said the same thing about Ahri. She's headed toward her third nerf.

It takes champions being horribly, blatantly overpowered before GD will admit "they might be too strong." See: Graves.

Q is a better poke then graves Q at a long range
W.... weaker? 15% hp damage is weak now apparently.
E yeah it kind of is.... (but that's good isn't it?)
R targets 5 people over three, doesn't require you to stand in the middle of your enemies, has no charge up time before the cc sets in. Just as good as morg ult, in a different way.

why are people comparing him to kog? he isn't kog. it is apples and oranges.

i am sure he will be just fine. he might need some tweaks, but then again what champ doesn't need tweaks here and there.

He has a long range poke with Q that scales up on damage.
He has a nice passive that works.
He has an AOE slow that works with his passive.
he has an ult that can disable teams in a team fight and do extra damage across the board.

plus i think he has some decent ratios.

other thing is if he needs tweaks he will get them as well.

I used to criticize Riot for the consistent release of seemingly OP champs that later require nerfs. If it is a way to make money, though, I can't really fault them. But then it occurred to me, they can't really know exactly how a champion will fit in the scheme of things without lots of pro player testing. I think they figure it is better to be on the safe side and release a champion a little bit stronger than average. I say on the safe side because as much as the community criticizes Riot for releasing a strong champ, they absolutely eviscerate Riot for releasing a weak one. Ultimately, I think it satisfies the community if the released champs are perhaps a bit too strong.
