If that is your definition of objectified, you're welcome to it, but pretty much every character in fiction is objectified. You literally just listed every single main stream video game character as objectified. Including the protagonist of Portal.

I have no problem with designing things for their target audience. That you do explains why you don't work in the business sector. Personally I would define "objectified" by "made object out of". Seems a tad more logical than "designed for target audience".

But fortunately I'm past pendants like you and free to have my opinion, so please go back to power tripping on whatever poor suckers you are grading - and yes, I could make even more assumptions if I wanted.
Actually, what is interesting about his/her definition of objectified is that what one finds engaging varies from person to person, is subjective. So even though, by his/her own definition of objectified, thousands of people do not find the LoL champions ot be objectified, they must be because in his/her own definition, HE/SHE finds them to be like that.... I feel bad for saying this but I suspect that good sir/madam seems to suffer of a rather acute case of egocentrism...

If this the place where I voice my complaints about Lux's splash arts? They all look really bad and need some replacing.

A bit of chocolate is good. Lots of chocolate is great, if you're a chocolate lover. But if you eat nothing but chocolate every day, it ceases to be special.

Even the most devoted music aficinado would get tired of listening to the same song a hundred times over, without a break.

I could have written the original post to focus more clearly on this, and not bring up the old bugbear of female gender roles in society.

Some discussion on the topic of ideas for new characters would be more productive, I think. Nobody is going to change one another's mind on the aforementioned topic anytime soon.

I'll leave it at that.
This is true, and I nor I believe the handful that is left responding to this thread are saying "We don't want you to have more clothed or conservative women"

We are saying that, like you, we don't want what we like to be criticized and abolished.

I wouldn't mind in the slightest more conservative skins - at the same time I enjoy my 'sexy' skins and I do want to continue seeing them made.

Don't worry OP. I suspect most people who are still posting on this thread agree with you on that.

Yeah, ultimately, I would just like to see a wider variety of female skins and character concepts.

I would even be happy with a female Gragas skin, or something; anything for a little variety.

For every Bunny Girl Riven or Nurse Akali, there's plenty of fantasy-rooted, dark, or different takes on female characters available. Fiora and her launch skins were also pretty classy. While we do have Miss Fortune, we have Leona, Riven, Fiora, Lulu and other non-sexualized female characters.

The key here is as you mention; variety. I just don't think I agree that we haven't met that mark.
There is definitely variety, but I'd like to see more. Personally I am not against characters having skimpy skins - I buy them. But it would be nice for each character to have the option to have at least one other type of skin. I will use Janna as an example. Every single one or her skins is rather flirty/sexualized. It would be kind of neat for me to see another type of armor on her. While I understand she is not necessarily the type to be in full plate like Leona I am sure there is something unique that could be done.

To reiterate, I don't mind skimpy. I like that there are champions like Lulu and Fiora and I also like champions like Miss Fortune. I'm not screaming my head off that sexy skins are demeaning to me etc etc. I just hope for more variety. And yes there are some and it makes me happy. Just keep it up, please There are a few champions who are underrepresented when it comes to unique and interesting skins (or many skins at all *Cassi*)

And I also like to see more champions that are not just guy 1 girl 1, guy 2 girl 2. Such as Lulu and Kog.

There was a thread not too long ago with suggestions of monsters (female monsters included) that Riot still haven't used in the game. Sadly, it got buried like that thread about weapons that haven't been used yet (which is a shame, considering Nautilus aparently came from that weapons thread).

Yeah. Now that I think about it, when was the last non-humanoid champ released? (Err... hecarim aside, as he is sort of... half half..)

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

Fetish skins are in no danger of being abolished. The critique is a function of the absence of alternative, non-sexualized female skins.

I suppose Hecarim counts, since centaur's are still technically monsters... but you're right, there's been a fairly long hyatus between Hecarim and.... does Volibear count?
