I think almost everyone else is happy to see dodge gone, especially if you're fighting a Jax or Sivir. Its just ridiculous because its usually ineffective and based on chance. Here is why crit is not as bad....
Crit is less ridiculous because most people who are using crit are getting their chance to the threshold... between 70-90% is the sweet spot. Any less and its unreliable, any more and its a waste. This differs greatly from dodge, where the maximum dodge you could get was around 40% with Jax, all runed up and with his e maxed. But most champions were only around 15-20% with a ninja tabi, masteries, etc. So it was insignificant chance, and it was rare that a dodge occurred... Crits happen much more often throughout the game, as 40% is a relatively easy and quick value to obtain, especially if you have runes. So basically, its different because you're working on a completely different end of the chance scale. Yes its frustrating when gangplank crits you for 250 at level 1 but realise that the other 4 times out of 5, gp only hits for the usual 100 or so and doesn't recieve any benefit whatsoever from runes and crit items when he does not crit. (Assuming he has a full crit page and maybe started with a crit item). Tryndamere is a different situation entirely... will not even bother touching on him because he doesnt follow the same crit requirements as all the other champions.
