I love Executioner's Calling because it's a very easy item, but it's true that it could do more than just a grievous wound. I love the Black Thumb idea, for it potentially reduces everyone's healing received on the enemy team.

An idea I had for the item was to give it multiple charges, as in you could inflict two or three people with a grievous wound before going on cooldown.

Another idea I had was to combine it with Avarice Blade--another good item that only goes toward one thing.

[Anyone have a name for this thing?]
Avarice Blade (750g) + Executioner's Calling (1350g) + 900g = 3000g
+30% crit chance
+20% life steal
Unique Passive: Your basic attacks cause 8 magic damage per second for 8 seconds (stacks up to 3 times).
Unique Active: Inflict a grievous wound to target enemy champion. This effect may be used twice before going on cooldown.

I think it could work--about the same price as a Phantom Dancer but without the movement and attack speeds, with the same crit chance.

Well, this item definitely needs a treatment, even though I have not figured out yet what it is...
Some stuff we should take into account before talking about possible changes on this item:

1. This item deals a DoT of 32 damage over 8 seconds, and refreshes if you hit somebody again.
2. Wits End deals a 42 damage on hit, it is an on hit damage that is dealt as a whole and is not mitigated by itself, which happens in the case of EC.
3. We know of a DoT that stacks, which belongs to Darius. Well, it's a PASSIVE and it stacks 5 times with itself, while an item... doesn't. If anybody thinks this is ranting, it's comparison, it's not about power levels.

One suggestion is to buff this item, in a way that it deals it's entire damage even if you attack while the DoT is active. This means each hit will deal 32 damage, but it will be damage over time. It might not seem too strong, but DoTs are really strong for harrassing.

Another definitely nice, but don't know if necessary thing, is to give this item an upgrade.
I like the thing you said about "increase regeneration effects on self", but I have a feeling this might be somehow abused by offtanks, and we already have an item with a similar effect.
Well, it would be nice to keep on fighters, so throwing some survivability like resistances, damage reduction or health on it would make it a good choice, but it would then not feel as strong in terms of damage. Does this sound OK? :/

Combine with ionic spark = win
Both are kind of weak in their current iteration
I only buy executioner if I need the debuff but maybe that is where riot likes it

I realize I'm wandering into DANGEROUS territory with this one, but hear me out.

Zeal (1195) + Executioner's Calling (1350) + 454 =
(2999) Vehemence

19% Lifesteal
25% Critical Strike Chance
25% Attack Speed
7% Movement Speed

UNIQUE Passive: Your basic attacks apply a mark to the target that deals 8 bonus magic damage each second for 4 seconds
UNIQUE Passive: On-hit, applies a 5% healing and regeneration debuff stacking up to 4-6 times with a duration of 3-5 seconds. DOES NOT stack with other standard 50% H&R debuffs, those will overwrite all stacks of this debuff instantly.

?* UNIQUE Active: Inflicts target enemy champion with Grievous Wound, causing 50% reduced healing and regeneration for 6 seconds (30 second cooldown).

Thoughts on this one? I feel like the new passive would need to be kept thoroughly in check, given the potential it has to get far, far out of hand; it certainly couldn't have a a high stack cap AND a high duration.

I want to hear feedback, ladies and gents. The name and numbers are VERY open to input/change, and truthfully I feel like the cost needs to break 3k as much as it pains me to admit. The main thing I consider sacrosanct to the idea is inclusion of a Zeal and the H&R Reduction in an onhit proc. Mathematically speaking, the DoT proc hasn't gained any damage, it's just doing it's damage at twice the rate. That's probably taking it too far, and again I want commentary telling me where I've gone over the top here.

*One more very large question
If we have the stacking H&R debuff passive, do we or do we not eliminate the active entirely? My present proposal handles this with a tradeoff of shortening the active debuff and slightly increasing its cooldown.

Regards,
CI
