Hey guys we are a new casting duo just getting started and trying to get into the casting game. We will be casting the featured games as well as games on our friends list and throwing them up on youtube. Eventually we want to transition into doing some live casts.

We are brand new at this and we are trying to improve by just jumping in...no fear...and putting ourselves out there.

We have 1 video up right now on our youtube (link below)...so please check it out. Like I said we are brand new so please leave any criticism and suggestions either here or on youtube so we can get better as we make more.

One last thing...please add both myself (Mom Made Tacos) and Falconpunch v1 and there's a chance your game will end up on our channel.

Please subscribe follow us and leave us any feedback.

Hey guys, I'm going to use this post to kind of document our path to becoming better casters as well as share what I felt like I had the most trouble with and what I need to work on in up coming episodes.

THE ROAD TO BECOMING A BETTER CASTER

Episode 1: Apparently youtube deleted the video...fun times...really sorry but just trust me it wasn't good! (Falcon & Taco)

-Stumbled over every team fight badly...
-The talking over each other was more due to skype delay and sitting right next to each other...but do need to work on it
-Filling in the gaps wasn't too bad but could use some work.
-Trying to stop saying Umm
-Pronunciation and just slowing down

Episode 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgyNPb6KOZ8 (Taco)

-Still stumbled over team fights but not nearly as badly as the first episode...would love some criticism!
-Felt like I filled in the gaps pretty good but will continue to work on this.
-Said Umm a few times so still working on this.
-Felt like I was able to understand myself a lot more this episode but will also work on this more
-Need to LEARN SKILL NAMES and clear up the general mix ups but as I do more this will be a lot easier!!! Feel like this is the most important right now.
-Need to stop missing fights...
-I'm pretty sure I said extremely low about 1000 times...need to stop that.

Episode 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZqEYSsJMMY (Falcon & Taco)

-I'm getting a lot better in teamfights but I still stumble here and there.
-Filling the gaps wasn't bad at all...there were one or two pauses I felt lasted a little longer than necessary.
-Need to stop saying umm...I don't even realize how many times I say it until I rewatch the replay.
-Didn't really miss any action/kills unless I was watching another fight.
-Camera skills need some work for sure.
-I caught myself a lot of times trying to say "extremely low"...will work on this more.
-We kind of talked over each other every now and then but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the first episode.

Episode 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf8vja4i29c&feature=plcp (Taco)

-Biggest thing I need to do is SLOW DOWN and enunciate a lot more...I wrote on a sheet of paper "slow down" in big letter so hopefully the next cast will be a little better there.
-I said "tons of damage: and "here comes" about 1000 times each so I need watch for **** like that as I go...I just get stuck in this rythm of saying something.
-Team fights will always need work but I don't think I messed up too much in terms of skills...I do need to work on calling champs the right names and stop mixing them up (like voli helping malph top when they are on opposite teams).

Episode 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v57KQ...ature=youtu.be (Falcon & Taco)

-We are still trying to figure out a good recording solution so our voices don't sound bad.
-I tried to give more time to Falcon and not hog the mic as much...hopefully that showed,
-Team fights I felt really really good about them...I did mix up names but otherwise I felt it flowed really well.
-Still said "tons of damage" but it wasn't as bad as the last episode...still working on not saying "here comes".

Here's a couple resources:

Purge's guide on how to become a shoutcaster

Tips on attitude and skill for aspiring shoutcasters by FourCourtJester

For a typical shoutcast you want an analytical commentator that really knows the in depth strategies and ins and outs of mechanical gameplay in league of legends paired with a play by play shoutcaster that can catch all the action as quickly as it comes on the screen. Also, just in general you want there to be as little dead air as possible while shoutcasting and to have a good energy and genuine feel to the commentary to keep people engaged. It takes a lot of practice and with the game patching as often as it does it can be tough to keep up as a player and as a commentator. Just be prepared for a lot of criticism, not all of it being constructive if you ever get to shoutcast a major event. Once again, good luck!

Thanks a ton rambo...I've looked at and read both your links. I understand it is going to be a long road but you have to start somewhere.
