Lets be honest, its not worth it. The bugfixes were minor and could have been delayed to an ACTUAL patch (balance, champ release etc). Lets recap where it all began.
Starting 6pm Australian time on Sunday night, the servers went down for 5 hours for the patch. Almost instantly they go back down because no one can start a game. I can't get on until almost 24 hours later, have to download another patch to get back to the Draven patch. (btw, Maokai is heavily bugged from what I noticed and needs to have his 'w' fixed because he floats in the air on the target, then stuns after a delay, its not travel time and not affected by flash).
Starting 6pm Australian time on Wednesday, the servers go down for another 5 hours in an attempt to roll out this patch again. I managed to log in to find my champions, runes, rune pages and masteries ALL WIPED. I attempt to log back in a few times with no fix. Servers go down shortly after.
Its currently midday on Thursday. I faced a 40min log in. Champions there but no runes, rune pages or masteries. I log back in, another 40mins later, same thing. It takes a further couple of hours for riot to acknowledge this problem. Its currently midday Thursday, I don't see myself playing for some time given these constant issues.
The other day I was talking to a few friends who played HoN and we discussed DoTA2. All of them are going to get into it, I said I would with the intention of playing exclusively with them and otherwise sticking to LoL. I have to be honest, these last two patches which have resulted in 36 hours (so far) of downtime whithin a few days with serious content loss and 40min log in queues (which have all left a sour taste in my mouth) have made me rethink it.
The last outage got us a 10win ip boost. I got through 4 in the time between server crashes. I don't expect RP but I do expect a free rune page. This isn't one issue, this is two in a row within a few days, so in my opinion, this actually seems fair.
Riot, please do more extensive testing of patches before releasing them. Clearly there is something in the patch (besides a stealth Xerath nerf) that isn't in the patch notes because simple bug fixes like this shouldn't have this kind of effect.
