I'm 420/372 for normal w/l... do I belong in 1200 elo?

I don't frequently play ranked because of the skill levels of the people I get matched with (compared to normals) and my friend told me I'm probably better than the people I play ranked with if I'm ~50 wins over losses in normals.

What do you guys think :S

If you keep doing good, but not 100% stomping, you likely belong 300 elo above where you are.

Your normal Elo is 1500, which isn't much different from ranked 1300s

Kind of hard to judge to be honest. Only way to really find out is by playing ranked games even if people aren't at the same level as you are. Either way though that's not saying you wont rise up. It's like a roller coaster.
