I am pretty sure I'm building by blitzcrank items all wrong. They go like this:

Starting: mana crystal + 2x health potions.

First trip back: phil stone + boots of speed (if I can afford it).

After that I try to get:

-heart of gold
-tear of the goddess
-ionian boots
-manamune
-trinity force
-then I build some random tanky items (usually force of nature + frozen heart)
-After that I'm really unsure. I tried maw of malmortis. But it doesn't seem to fit.

I'm trying to build a tank/dps blitzcrank.

There is no real place for tanky/dps Blitzcrank.

But if you want do do something similar, just go support with him.

Rush Philostpne + HoG. After that you go straight for Trinityforce. So there is plenty Room for def items depending on the enemy team and you got kinda wall damage.

Just NEVER build tear of the godess on blitz. the CDs are much too high, to unse it properly and only his shield benefits from it, wich isnt worth the 1k early gold.

I don't mean this to be a competitive build. Just something to do for fun, and do well with (in low-level games).

You might try some of thes builds in Dominion to practice. That is where they work the best.

As top, you probably want cloth and 5 health pots since you have no sustain. At the least, boots+3.
Jungle will be similar. Neither is great for Blitz, but doable.

At bottom you take standard support build.

You want TEAR asap, along with boots, then the manamune. Sustain is still a problem though and I dont know how to fix it. I guess you could go wriggles but thats really an oddity on blitz.

It is likely better to stack armor by getting a chain vest. The chain+cloth will turn into a Glacial->frozen heart, which is fantastic for him.

So you wind up with boots (preferably ionic boots), tear->manamune, glaical shroud->heart, negatron which you eventually upgrade to banshees but not till later, then Sheen to Triforce.

This gives you excellent defenses and the shroud/banshee/triforce all contribute to your manamune and your internal shield.

Tear is awesome. For 1k gold, assuming an average mana gain of 800 (300min, 1300max)over the game, thats giving 400 'virtual health' from your shield (worth 1k right there). The 1300g upgrade adds 20 AD for free and then you can expect another 40AD (so 60AD which is worth 2400g for only 1300).
As game goes on, manamune gets better and better.

items do not mean much on blitz he has everything he needs in his skills which is a grab, knock up and a silence. you help your team by getting carries fed with your cc not by doing damage. i normally build items like aegis and shurelias on him. frozen heart aswell. the game is usually over after your 1st- 2nd item

Support Blitz is where it's at. You get to stomp people plenty, and assists are good for gold. Passive supports may be effective on good teams, but aggressive supports stand a better chance to carry a weak team.

Flat armor reds, flat armor yellows, mr/lvl blues, GP10 quints.
0-9-21 masteries, get that GP/10 and mana regen.
Flash and heal/exhaust.

Start blue crystal, ward. Rush Tear (only 595g when you start with blue). I usually try to pick up an early Wriggles Lantern for free wards, damage, and sustain. Heart of gold>either upgrade, aegis, boots>merc treads, sheen>triforce, manamune. In whatever order you think is appropriate at the time.

*********

Wriggles on support bot? 1 GP/10 item = 30 gold/minute. 1 ward costs = 25 GP/minute. Close.

But with Wriggles on blitz you get everything you need: armor vs that pesky enemy ad carry, lifesteal for sustain, bonus damage to monsters for quicker dragon pickups. Plus the knowledge that you don't have to B at full health during a push just because you're out of wards. Try it.

my core(as support) is sheen, situational boots, frozen heart

after that banshees veil, trinity force

games nearly always end at this point, if not build situational tanky items like thornmail, sunfire, FON, warmogs
