After playing my first five ranked games, I have encountered my fair share of trolls and leavers, as well as a solo mid mundo running promote, claiming that it was OP. Regardless of this, I don't want to blame anybody but myself. I generally jungle, maokai to be specific, and only get maybe one or two kills per game, since I try to fill a more support/tanks role and just feed the carries. I am 0-5 in my first five games, and am honestly afraid to continue ranked as I am a bit afraid as to what kinds of players I will find in my undoubtedly painfully low Elo. I think I am probably doing myself a favor by returning to normals until season three, or until I truly feel good enough to carry myself out. Opinions?

Alright, I gave you my attention for one minute. Are you happy now?

I don't really understand your response. I'm not seeking attention or pity, just opinions on my decision to stay in normals for a while.

IceNurgle is just being a hater.

If you aren't feeling comfortable in Ranked droping down to Normal for a little while is a fine idea. Try to do draft instead of blind so you can get practice with banning, counterpicking etc.

Some general benchmarks for getting ready for ranked:

Are you comfortable with draft mode?
-bans, counterpicks, team comp, dealing with trolls (dodging is not always the answer)

Can you play each role?
-have a few (like 3 or 4) champs for each role, know common matchups in each lane

Do you have runes for each role?
-AD, AP, support, jungle

Can you stay calm under pressure?
-rage is never helpful

Do you know common tactics?
-when you can take baron safely, when you can safely take dragon, when to push/splitpush, when you can invade at the begining of a match, when they are likely to try to invade you, how to bait/not get baited, why wards are op... kind of a long list of things here ya know...
