"She wanted to see if she could learn some light magic." Lux replied smoothly. "We did it separately like this because, you know, it makes you nervous if there's an audience. Maybe you want to try, too?"

"Oh, um..no thanks. I'm good with my cosmic power," Sam remarked, "Did Alice ever learn to make anything that wasn't purple?"

Upstairs, Alice was lucky enough to find her necklace on the highest shelf. She had forgotten she had hid it up there while Sam was staying over.

Quickly she got busy, attaching the gem into an opened charm holder dangling off the end. The crystal fit perfectly in, and radiated a small green light once it set in. Alice smiled with joy; her masterpiece was done.

"Well, technically, light is a perfect mixture of every color in the spectrum, so even if she perfected-" Lux began, but stopped herself, and blushed lightly. "...yeah, it was all purple." She said sheepishly.

Sam smirked.

"Yea I figured," Sam teased, "Whatever magic she uses, surely doesn't like to change color often. Even her playing cards stay purple."

Alice rushed down stairs to meet up with Sam and Lux. Once she entered the room, Sam immediately looked up.

"Speaking of the devil," She remarked, "I'm glad you're back. You should know better than to leave me alone with all these strangers."

She looked back at Robin and Lux, "No offense, though."

"Don't be silly," Alice replied back as she held up the necklace, "Got something for you. Happy late-Snowdown."

Sam looked at the necklace, unsure of what to think. Alice walked over and handed it to her before sitting down.

"Aww...it's so beautiful," Sam remarked, blushing a bit, "Is that...what I think it is?" She pointed to the Shai Shard hanging off the jewelry.

"Yep. It's that Shai Shard crystal you wanted," Alice answered, "I figured it would be the perfect gift for ya."

Sam smiled looking between the gem and Alice. Finally, she reached over and gave Alice a loving kiss, which was returned equally as lovely.

A letter would arrive for Lux the next time she checks her mail

Sam smiled back at Alice.

"It's not something I can normally do, at least not this easily," She explained, "I guess the crystal must have some effect on my powers, which makes it all that more special."

"Well that's cool...so what can it do?" Alice exclaimed.

Sam dispelled the orb in a small flash of light, "Well I'm not to sure really. I assume it's just a way to hold my power in a physical form, but I've never actually tried to explore what it could do."

Sam looked between the crystal and Alice, admiring the beauty that glowed off of it.

"Oh, by the way, you know that job I applied for up at the Institute?" She asked, changing the subject.

"You mean that nursing job you were talking about?" Alice responded.

"Yea, turns out I'm too over qualified for the position, so they said they would see if I could become a Doctor."

"I told you, you were to good to be just a nurse," Alice teased, "I hope they do hire you. It'll be one step closer to us moving to Ionia."
