One of the biggest problems I have in champ select now is Jayce. He throws off the entire metric I use to choose champions. I tend to choose last (or close to it) to best compliment the team. I like to have at least two ranged and two melee, two AP and two AD, and I more or less try to follow the meta even though I'm not all that fond of it because I assume everyone else is.

But then someone locks Jayce and I have no clue who I'm supposed to pick.

ask them what they are going to gear for? i mean its really the same thing as nidalee, she is both ranged and melee

Funny story: I've only had two games with a Nidalee on my team. Both of them I auto-locked, as it was back before I was... helpful.
