A long time ago when Warmogs was removed from Dominion, Riot told us that they will be implementing a Dominion-only type of Warmogs item. They said they didn't want to remove Warmogs and put the new one in at the same patch.

It's been at least one year (I've been playing Dota2 for the past 6 months and just came back today to check Dominion changes) and still there is no Dominion-type warmogs

I'm actually perfectly fine with this.

After playing a good number of proving grounds games, I've discovered that Warmogs is OP as all hell on both tanks and bruisers alike.

Warmogs takes a lot of fun out of fights, and also makes defensive itemization a lot more straight-forwards and boring.

rylais/frozen mallet work just fine.

though to be honest, defensive itemization is still very straightforward as logn as frozen heart still exists

My only real problem is if you want to get a Trinity, and itemize health it feels silly to get a FM as well. I usually find at that point I need to get piecemeal health items. Which sometimes works as sometimes doesn't.

I'm not sure that Warmogs would be particularly healthy for Dom.

One of the benefits of tanky DPS Trinity + FH is that it mostly defends against other tanky DPS (and ranged AD, which is another topic). Change that to Trinity + Warmogs, and you extend that defense to include magic casters too. I don't think reducing the relative strength of casters is a good move.

How does FM protect more vs tanky dps/ranged ad than it does against casters? How does Warmogs increase the protection vs casters in a way that it doesn't also increase vs tanky dps/ranged ad?

you guys seem to be under the impression that I or Riot wanted WARMOGS in the game

but this is false

I (along with Riot a while back) wanted a DOMINION version of warmogs. Which would mean a purely defensive health item that is not Warmogs, but balanced for Dominion BASED on warmogs

frozen mallet is nice and all, but it is not a purely defensive health item since you are paying a lot to have the slow and little amount of damage

maybe we can even have a damage/health hybrid item

PASSIVE: + X max health

ACTIVE: + X max health, Lose X life per second, gain X damage (you can turn this off/on whenever - 5sec CD)

this is exactly like Armlet from dota1/dota2

He said FH not FM.

Frozen Heart provides Armor, Mana, and CDR, since Armor just increases your Effective Health against AD while Warmogs with Health increase would increase defense against everything, Warmogs is a much more powerful defensive item.
