Surfer Ahri smashed into the ground, the force of the Moderators slap shook her entire being. Her cheek burned red, the soft flesh stung with pain when she tried to cradle her beaten face. She looked up at the Moderator towering above her and could feel the tears welling in her eyes.
"Why are you doing th-"
She was cut short by a kick in the stomach, the wind burst from her lungs, and for a moment she choked for air. It didn't say anything, It only watched her squirm. Ahri's teeny polka-dot bikini did nothing to lessen the monstrous force of this... this thing. She had heard stories, and caught a glimpse of it as it dragged her best friend away so long ago, but to be face to face with a being of such emptiness, it awakened a new kind of fear inside her, and that was exactly what It wanted, she knew...
Ahri tried to be brave when her friend was taken. She signed petitions, voiced her opinion among others, the chanting of the forum did not go unnoticed, but it did go unheard. They sent someone down, a Red they're called, except this one smelled of hair gel and shoe shiner. His suit was done up so tight it looked painful, and he would never let up that grin. When he approached Ahri could feel something loom over her, a shadow so heavy it made her shoulders slump. She looked over her shoulder, looked up, something was watching, something menacing, this man was only a puppet. The Red gave her one option. "If you wanna whine you can do it in here." He motioned at the thread he'd just created "otherwise, stop."
And with that, it was over, people scattered, the Red's word was law. Yes there were faint whisperings among the forum goers, but in the end he was forgotten. It left a sick taste in Ahri's mouth, but what could she do? Time passed, raging kids came and went, Renekton Bot's silly antics were met with praise, Lu Bu introduced cooking, more threads about waking up as a champion than she cared to count filtered through the forums each day. It made her sad, but her sadness turned to anger, and anger turned into motivation. She would challenge them, carry on her friend's will, just as he did. The next day she logged onto the forums, and began her march.
"A- Ahri-san?" Lux whispered, as Ahri drew her into a close embrace...
The Moderator lifted Ahri by her hair, she screamed in pain. It was a terrible thing, 9 feet tall at least, as large as a Volibear and as empty as a Karthus enthusiast. Its face was hidden by a rusted metallic mask that had Riot's logo on the front, labored breathing could be heard from underneath. She dangled in mid air like a doll, pain shooting all throughout her body, every whimper awarded her a punch, or a backhand if It felt like mixing things up. Her face was raw by the time she managed to stifle every sound, the only thing that could be heard in the room was Moderator's breathing. Blood trickled down her face, she could barely open her left eye, all she could do was stare. She didn't know if It could see her through the mask, maybe It only smelled and heard her, or maybe It didn't care to look upon her at all. Finally It let her drop to the ground, she hit the stone with a thud, something snapped but it was hard to tell what. Too beaten and bloody to move, she dared to speak again.
"All I wanted was t-to make the forums a nice place" she forced out each word, every breath felt like someone was stomping on her chest "I-I just wanted them to laugh once in a while, to have some fun, to build a community. It's... It's what Iaw wanted. Why, why us, what did we do other than make people smile?"
The Moderator knelt down beside Ahri's broken body and yet It still towered over her, It leaned in so close she could feel Its frigid breath on her skin.
"Weaboos" The creature spat, the hatred in Its voice was palpable.
Ahri felt her heart sink, she didn't want to believe it, of all the selfish reasons. Before she could respond the Moderator grabbed her by the throat and dragged her off into the darkness, the last things she heard were Its labored breathing and the sound of chains scraping on stone...
