The idea of a "Flare" skin is pretty simple. With a lot of older skins all Riot really did was change the color pallet on the champions. Now that Riot has grown they are releasing skins that completly change the feel of the champions by changing the characters animations, looks, and sounds affects. My idea is to release "Flare" skins on top of the already existing skins. Just as an example think of Dr.Mundo. His first skin was Toxic Dr. Mundo. This skin was simply a texture recolor to make him green. Think about if they did this for Corperate Dr. Mundo, maybe give him a red tie and some blood on his shirt Shawn of the Dead Style. Or Rageborn Mundo with green, blue, or purple skin. Riot is obviously pulling back with the skin releases now they they have been releasing 1 skin with each champion release rather then 2. I understand that they don't want to just release things for the sake of releasing them just to turn a profit if its going to take some appeal away from the champion. I realize this is a greater task them it looks on paper but it would be an interesting concept to see put in action. Lets look at Monarch Kog Maw. If you buy the skin for 520RP you unlock the "Flares" for the skin. You can spend an extra 100RP or 200RP for a "Flare" or recolor of the skin that maybe changes his wing design or color and select these like any other when selecting your champion.
