He isn't a vampire, a monster or an undead of any sort.
Vlad is a human monk, who got the powers of Hemomancy from his Master who basically killed himself to transfer his powers to Vladimir, or something like that.

I just find it funny that he came out when the first Twilight book was the new popular thing.

Morello, when you analyze the popularity of a champion, how would you isolate it from whether its because of the design of the champion in terms of looks, or whether its because of the skins released for it, or because the champion is simply very strong in terms of competitive play? Both Urgot and Trundle aren't exactly characters you would see often in competitive play.

Dude, you tried too hard to give as many roles other than support as possible...

Fighters, Brawlers? You mean Bruisers, they fall in the Fighter categories most of the time...

Only other roles are:

Tanks
AP carries (Casters)
AD carries (Ranged)
Fighters (Bruisers)
Assassins

We barely have AD casters, and the ones we do have just fall in the fighter/tankyDPS/bruisers category...

And considering the fact that there's automatically 1 AP carry mid every game and 1 AD carry bot, having 1 support bot every game shouldn't come as a surprise to you... People are acting like the support role is non-obligatory. Go bot with a non-support, see how much you get raged at.

If support covers 1/5 of the roles in EVERY SINGLE GAME, I think 2 a year is very, VERY disappointing and not to mention insulting...

We tend to not want to do more than 4-5 a year of any role, I don't know why this is a problem :P
What do you mean "due to how many people prefer supports"... You're acting like the supports in game are a CHOICE.... With the current meta, there's a support every single game! IF you don't play support, you're called a troll! There's 1 support every game! And you leave us with barely 10 supports, and aiming at 2 a year? Meaning that the other ~24 champions are all gonna be: AP carries, AD carries, Fighters and assassins? That's funny because you barely release AD carries anyways... Only 2 so far, Graves and Varus... All year long, we just get fighters with oversized weapons (Darius, Jayce).

You wanna know why people don't play Sejuani or Volibear even though they've been released recently? Because you think people play your "humans" because we "relate" to them.... Wrong. You make them OP as hell...

This hits the nail right on the head:

Trundle's pretty cool, but when I'm buying a champ or selecting a champ, my thought process is hardly, "does he look cool?", rather it's, "can he/she do his/her job well?" The fact is that Trundle gets outclassed by so many other junglers, that playing him doesn't seem like a good idea.

You also mentioned Lulu vs .Fiora in another thread, but, also forget that Lulu is a part of a small pool of champs, has been nerf a bit, and isn't as safe a pick as say Janna or Soraka. Soraka also brings up another point, in that, Soraka's got a really stupid model - how many people actually like her model? - and lots of people find her boring to play as, yet she's still played because she's a safe pick.

Also, with Lulu, there's another problem in that she's a 6300IP champion, but is also a support. I'm skeptical that many people would lay down that much IP on a role that many consider boring. Obviously Lulu and Leona see play, but, as she is now, I'm just not likely to spend that much IP on a support champ, when I could buy a carry or jungler that feels like it adds more to game.

Personally, I love characters like Naut, Urgot, Maokai, Hecarim, Sion, etc. They add so much flavor to game, and if you look at MLG stats, despite being, as you say grotesque, Naut had a really high selection rate, because he's a good champ. A good grotesque champ will be played, a poorly designed (kit-wise) champ won't be played, regardless of their model.

Popularity is also a factor. Support is easily the most unpopular role in the game.

You'll never hear "I support or I feed". Not even when Lulu came out(since everyone was busy playing her top/mid)

Old Woman champion please. I've been wanting a hag or old witch type champion or playable character in a game for as long as I can remember, I mean even skyrim you can only get someone that looks like a mid-40's tavern wench.

Old witches have been in movies, books, and shows since before even Shakespeare, but are incredibly rare in gaming, even more so as a playable character. Let us get one here please.

Super liked your post.
Thanks for the feedback.

I have a question though.
Do you think "Urgot-esk" champions would be more popular if more where released?
Like Urgot and Trundle go into pretty far extremes as far as niche/monster/grotesque, but would that nice become more appealing if there where more then two? Or if one had a more High Omg Dmg output.

I dunno, im just curious if say Darius and Trundle switched skill sets, would there usage change.

Ok, 2 male martial art empty hand champions. Not a giant amount, but...

All arguments aside, I do agree with the desire for an awesome female empty hand martial artist.
