Wait wait wait,did I read that some1 levels up Q first on AP fizz? How does one lose to that......X_X W first, E second or in the other case where you need lower CD on E - E first, W second, never do I see a reason to level Q first. ;

Anyway, to answer your question. Bursty champions that have CC normally handle him pretty well. Things like Malzahar, Xerath work really well against him. You can farm from outside his range (unless he wants to use both Q and E to initiate, which is foolish but some do it) and if he is to commit you can 100-to-0 him while having him CCed so he doesn't auto you with W. Flashing his ult when he commits at level 6 also helps but he can still easily kill you even if he missed ult so still be careful.

Keep in mind, it's always good to waste flash for his ult IF you are going to kill him. Flash won't save you from his other spells so it's almost pointless there.

His very early levels are VERY weak and any time he goes up to CS he is vulnerable to taking a lot of free harass, to the point of him not being able to retaliate without likely dying when he does start getting good at trading.

Champions with instant nukes do very well against him.

AP sion. Typically he'll be glad to farm since he's melee and for the first time, he can actually grab some cs. Farm up 950g (2 dorans rings), come to lane, shove lane as hard as you can.

Now there's two choices for the little fish.

A) Follow you to try to countergank, losing exp and farm at the tower
B) Try to get the farm under the tower and push it out, while you gank the side lanes.

Either way, you win.

Use Fiddlesticks, Malzahar, or Pantheon. Zilean is good too, but he's rarely used. I haven't gone against one, but Riven mid, while it's not meta, should work well. Mordekaiser is annoying to lane against because he pushes hard and makes it difficult to roam, but if the Fizz's jungler is competent then they will beat the Morde and their jungler. Also, Orianna is a very good counterpick to him, but I don't have much experience in that matchup. A good orianna can abuse her autoattack harass while using the ball to zone you from creeps and keep you out of range of her.

If you're looking to counter him in the laning phase, DO NOT PICK RYZE, PLEASE. Yes, if a Ryze gets items lategame he will be strong against Fizz, but while laning he will get absolutely demolished. I've laned against tons and tons of Ryze players who think they countered me so hard with their pick, and in almost every game I just get fed off him early and snowball.

Generally I do well against Fizz with Lux; she can harass from miles outside his range and farm well from back there too. She also has a shield to counteract the DoT that Fizz has and a hard CC to keep him in place.

Wrong. If he just does as much as auto attack you with W at level 1 he can exchange fairly well. Granted not plenty of them will do that, or even start with W at level 1.

Not sure why I'm getting downvoted. I have hundreds of games with Fizz and know how he plays inside and out. Xerath does extremely well against him, so does Malzahar (afk farm) and so does Ryze.

If u are to flash against him, save for ult, or don't flash at all.

He can easily exchange at level 2 (W/Q) and becomes a god at it at level 3.

Really strong against him are spammy champs. He goes up to last hit, Q his face with Ryze. He goes up to last hit, lightning bolt his way with Xerath (he either gets hit, or misses CS[or both]).
