Honestly. You saw how he was after he threw that spear at you. He knows he can't kill you. If Diana shows up on Mount Targon, would you NOT defend her from Pantheon again? "Well.. they are right, they wouldn't understand.. however, Pantheon is one of the strongest warriors to ever come from the tribe, so I doubt they would see him much different"
