At the end of a Ranked match, it saids you gained 12 points towards your rating. Why am I only getting get 12 points? My friends are getting 17-18 a game. When we q solo 5v5 together, He gets 18, I get 12. or even when I solo q alone, I still only get 12.

Anyone know what determines this?

Because you've played more ranked games.

The first X number of ranked games a person plays upon reaching 30 receive higher than normal ELO gains and losses, in order to place that player in their "proper" ELO faster.

You also get less elo when you have higher elo already.
