I have been playing top for few games and I am looking for a safe pick for that that doesnt usually get countered. any ideas? please post your rune page with him too.

I like to play Riven solo top, very few counters. AD pen reds, armor yellows, mg ris/level blues. AD pen quins.

If your looking for a safe one. A lot of people would say Yorick.

Its good to play at least 2 solo tops for ranked, so that if a counter is picked for yours, you have a different champion

Some safe ones I like to play, FARMgath, farmsin, yorick,

Yorick, Jayce, Rumble, Riven and Teemo sometimes.
Malphite and Shen would be nice too.

Just don't go Squishy carries.

As far as I know, no single champ can completely zone out Kayle and force her to lose the lane. Although, of course, there are champs that are annoying to her (Yorick, Kennen if he's good, any champ with silence). But zone her out? No.

Although I don't have experience in ranked gameplay, I have the impression that she isn't banned very much. Someone here, I'm sure, will correct me if I'm wrong.

I think Dyrus demonstrated her viability top lane at the latest MLG. She's a good top laner and scales well late game if built as an AD carry. She's also tough to gank once she gets her ulti.

Warwick is pretty safe, as long as you buy wards.

Then get a chalice and Q FO DAYz.

If you play smart you dont really have to worry alot about counters. Wukong/Yorick/LeeSin are all pretty safe picks at top. You counter someone when you're looking for early kills/pushing them out of lane alot. So if you get countered just play smart and try to avoid as much damage as you can while keeping your farm up. Learn how to farm while under your turret and it becomes harder to effectively counter you.
