aesthetic reasoning. may not like how the base guy looks like, so you buy a skin you like to look at. etc. customization.

Similar to making a female char on a game, you don't want to stare at a dude for 12+ hours at a time do you? Unless, you know, you like that sort of thing. So why not buy something to cover up an ugly champ.

lol@ people pretending they're just buying RP to support riot. this isn't a charity. you buy skins to make you look unique in game like everybody else.

uniqueness makes people feel special, and status is important to people.

I buy them because they look cool, i don't want my favorite champion to look like everyone else who may happen to be playing it because its free week, but most importantly and already mentioned i buy the skins to support Riot this is a game i would have payed a small monthly fee to play and i like the option to pay them how i see and get some reward for doing so! they really are a great company.

Lol. a bit of in game art isn't worth $5. The service riot provides is.
