After hearing the intro music for Diana, I was moved at how beautiful and cinematic the whole thing was; then it hit me. Most of the champions have really good stories that interact with one another to tell the tale of how they became the beloved fighters that we play everyday.

So I was thinking, why not make a bunch of short films, around 10-40 mins, about each champion or a duel story like with Leona and Diana, Kayle and Morgana, Garen and Katarina to better explore the relationship between the characters and better explain how they got into the league.

This would also help solve the problem of how to tell the lore of Runeterra, because who dosen't want to watch an epic movie about their favorite character battling it out, showing the struggle that they went through to become a champion of the league.

It would also help promote the game even more if the films were put into film festivals to show that this is not just some game, but an expansive lore filled with deep characters that are as individual as the players who play them. Each one has their own story just waiting to be told. And who knows. If it's popular enough, make a feature out of it! Mass Effect the movie should be coming gout within the next two to three years. Why not a League of Legends movie!

I think that it would be a huge drain on money and time to do ALL the characters. There are over 100, after all. Additionally, I don't think the lore department currently has the resources to pull this off.

It would be nice if they did do this, but it would be difficult.

Yeah all the character would be impossible, not to mention some of the characters really don't have a story to tell. I think it should be focused on the few champions that have really good stories like the ones I listed above.

And money is always a big issue, it sucks but hey that's how the world works. What would be cool is if the team could get some producers involved. Not enough that they get taken over by the big studio (I want RIot to be independent forever!) but enough to fund a project and get it out there.

A short film can cost anywhere from 5 -100 or even 500 thousand dollars, depending on how good you want to make it. (Hollywood style were talking in the millions). But some characters can be made for cheap.

A good example would be Riven. Its one character, with a simple costume (only need to build the sword and make the costume look right) have a starting action sequence then the rest of the story is her trying to find redemption for her sins which could be filmed in remote areas like deserts and forests around LA. A small film crew could head the project with the creative team keeping the number of hired hands low. I'ed estimate it to cost around 10-80 thousand dollars for a 10-20 min short (and this is very indi style). to make it better would be around 100K+.

I'm just saying is all. You'ed be surprised how easy it is to make a short film. Then again how difficult it can be. It's an interesting idea to ponder.

They have the story, they just need to put it into action.

Eh... i'd say closer to 30 sec shorts.

Maybe for some heroes, but others would need more time to better tell their story.

Could do trailers as a start, get people interested. If there is enough interest then then can go on to the next level. If not, well they spent less money then on a full short.

Doing a trailer would be super cheap and easy to do as well. Get some good mood music, make it dark and mysterious, flash a few scenes, end with a title, flash an image of a champion and Coming Soon! I'm getting excited just thinking about it.

There are many other groups talking about this in the Lore Forums, this idea may have so grounding to it.

Honestly I would rather just write it out i mean look how much time happens between a "Meet the _____" and the TF characters don't even have lore. I would rather have more lore in written form than a video for each champ. Plus like i don't want to see a video longer than 2 minutes devoted entirely to like rammus, or Zyra, or Ahri.

But if they did do it i don't think it would be a waste of time or money just not that great usage of either.

at least make it a minute that way we can clarify cho'gaths lore

Not all champions are created equal. Some lore can be done in just under a min, sense it basically involves them just showing up and causing trouble (Brand, Amumu, Nocturne, most of the non-humanoid champs) others would need a bit more time like 2-10 mins.

I may have been overzealous in the beginning. I am a film major and I just got really excited about the idea. But in reality, could probably squeeze the lore down to a couple of mins, it just wont be super epic, but it will look great and get the job done.
